of heavy, hard Swedish melodic Blackened Death, & cold, hyper-speedy
Norwegian atmospherics complete with icy, etherial keyboards, acoustic
guitar breaks, & raspy grim vokills! This brutal, but immediately catchy
"Vittra" ranks at the top along with the best by Dimmu
Borgir, Dark Funeral, Mork Gryning, Marduk, Enslaved, Emperor,
Abigor, & of course-- the mighty Dissection!
Totally epic & anthemic

Thrash crew from Linkoping, Sweden! Highly distinct from the rest of the
Swedish scene, Nephenzy bring a touch of Old School speed & power (no, not
like Gehennah or Inferno, but more like Swordmaster, or even very, very
early At The Gates!) when blending their brand of harmonic grind,
atmospheric melodies, & Norwegian-influenced Black Metal attack! A fresh
approach made even more appealing by bandmembers' youthful intensityh &
attitudes (obviously full of energy & new ideas)! Much hope for this band
in the near future!

Don't be fooled by the full-on doom/gothic looking logo & artwork (beautiful, full-color artwork throughout the whole lyric booklet!) as this thrash-worthy quintet of young (very young!) Swedes deliver a massively heavy & raging album of raw energy & pure Blackened intensity! Brilliant production values typical of other excellent No Fashion releases elevates this deathish blackthrash (yes, some "old school" riffage to feast on!) approaching Dissection's melodicism racing forward (& sometimes giving way to brief, slow-burn changes by acoustic guitars). Ab
laze My Sorrow's "If Emotion Still Burns" illustrates a technical approach to the songs sure to amaze, exhilarate, & impress! Screechy grim vocals & aggressive "clean" (still screaming though!) vocals add a stirring & epic dynamic! *(Oh yeah, the addition of CoF-type "solemn" female vocals on track #6 will give you boys a hard-on for sure!) .

Supremely epic Swedish Black Metal by this young trio from Göteborg; an impressive blend of Dark Funeral or Dark Tranquility raging/heaviness, with Sacramentum's melodicism! Mostly grim Nordic vokills, but also sometimes brutal low vocals, or clear solemn war-chants. Harmonic grinding guitar propel martial keyboards for an aggressive, cosmic atmosphere! Jet-speed intensity amidst the swaying melodies, presenting a fresh attack, & giving new life to what might be considered typical Swedish sound. Excellent recording production with that unmistakeable Mercyful Fate guitar sound! *(hey, produced by Andy LaRoque!) At worst, Midvinter may be considered to be Sweden's Cradle of Filth or [early] Master's Hammer! *(more than 63 minutes total running time!)
