Sweden's most intense black metal band, THE BLACK was formed in 1991 when drummer-The Black decided that a musical project was needed that would capture the true intensity of the early '80s BM bands as well as the feelings of pure Hate, War, & Evil in musical form. In '92, The Black recruited the services of Dissection vocalist/guitarist Jon Nodtveidt (aka RIETAS) & bassist Leviathan to help him create a horrific & unholy sound. A demo was produced & recorded in Sweden's Balsta Studios entitled "Black Blood" which went on to sell over 666 copies! Due to tons of requests, the "Black Blood" demo was finally released on CD format as a testament in blood to one of the finest BM bands from Sweden since Bathory. This demo is one of the best examples of The Black's work: raw, evil, & UNDERPRODUCED, just as the REAL BM maniacs want it! With the addition of RIETAS on vocals & guitar, this is sure to become a true collectors item!
