"The sound of this band is a bit hard to pin down. They are at heart a Black Metal band with the treble-end guitar sound, shrieking vocals and hyper blast parts one would expect. But there is a lot more than that going on here. FINNUGOR write complex songs with a lot of shifting tempos and riff changes, keyboard flourishes and atmospherics and the odd folky touch here and there. They don't go as far in the atmospheric direction as SUMMONING, but they sure aren't DARKTHRONE either. They throw in some clean vocals, some narration, some female vocals and spoken parts…it sounds like this would be a mess, but these guys know how to write a song. Even the ten-minute plus 'Astral Fornication' never loses focus or becomes boring. And as experimental as they sometimes get, FINNUGOR never forget that they are a Metal band. Just when you start to wonder what happened to the Metal they pull out a killer riff like the one on the title cut, or 'Solar Eclipse'. 'Korg Polaris' stands out as an especially cool song, with a really awesome main riff."

"This CD has very cool cover art (ruined city, hanging corpse, crouching demon) even though I think the back cover wraparound is better still. The lyrics are included and despite the language barrier problem are very cool. Note the portrait of contributing vocalist Domina Mystica in the album art. I sure hope she looked like that in the studio. Yeeha!"

"This is just a class CD and the quality of songwriting on display here makes me very excited to get some more stuff by this band.
