From Finland, his symphonic and majestic album by ALGHAZANTH will blast your head off! From MetalHel:
Now that Thyrane moved on from the company, Woodcut seems to market Alghazanth as their number one selling point. And in fact, with a fresh album like Osiris ? Typhon Unmasked the band has very little trouble in filling that empty slot. However, given the talent and the insight of the band it would be unjust to discuss Alghazanth as a mere heir of Thyrane.
As far as the band's musical history is concerned, Osiris? is somewhat clear continuation from the previous releases. It combines the melodic side of Aeons? and the originality of Subliminal?, taking both of the elements a few steps further in the process. Thus, if you enjoyed one (or both) of the previous albums you are more or less bound to love this one.
With many bands there is always one instrument or a special feature that makes the group stand out from the rest of the genre. With Alghazanth, however, there are a couple of these: the innovative synthesizer lines, the lyrics that in their perceptiveness are high above your average bm ?bluster. Accompany both of these with occasional chainsaw-guitar melodies and chrushing riffs and you are able to get some impression of the band's music.
The production is perfect, giving enough room for each instrument. Alghazanth manages to breathe new life into these traditional melodies with their modern touch.
The album is definitely one of the best, if not the best, albums to come from the Finnish metal scene this year! Recommended to all the fans of melodic, synthesizer?based Black Metal!
