Grim, Hateful, True Black Metal!!!

I don't want to repeat the other great reviews, and believe me, all the great comments stated below are true. Fist of the Northern Destroyer has one of the most grim and hateful atmospheres ever produced in black metal. Highly engaging and cruely powerful, this is simply a great album.

I'm in total agreement with Marty's review. I have been eagerly anticipating this new CLANDESTINE BLAZE CD, since a "friend" had played me his promo copy a few months ago. And ever since I was finally able to buy "Fist of the Northern Destroyer" last month, it hasn't left my CD player. The raw, grim music and the overall songwriting, production & musicianship just keeps getting better, but without loosing any of its hateful Black Metal edge (don't worry, you will NOT find some polished "Abyss" studio production here). If you are new to CLANDESTINE BLAZE, then I highly recommend you start with this new release, and then work your way backwards with "Night of the Unholy Flames" (the 2nd full length CD) & the ultra-grim "Fire Burns in Our Hearts" (the debut CD). Fans of DARKTHRONE's "Panzerfaust" should really enjoy CLANDESTINE BLAZE, since you get plenty of cold mid-paced Black Metal Nordic blasts alongside some excellent, classic HELLHAMMER/ CELTIC FROST worship. Still, CLANDESTINE BLAZE has a little something extra in their sound that is completely unique from the aforementioned bands (mainly the guitar riffs and arrangements). "Fist of the Northern Destroyer" is a MUST OWN!!!

CLANDESTINE BLAZE is among my favorite bands in the Black Metal genre. A heavy handed dose of Darkthrone eats at the core of this music, which contains a grim focus on successful repetition, and simplistic, though powerful riffs. This is the way black metal is supposed to be-- atmospheric. Hateful! And now the latest and greatly anticipated opus from CB has now arrived! 7 new compositions of steadfast traditional black metal for souls that condemn evolution. A slightly better production and more advanced drum work hurls the Fist of the Northern Destroyer repeatedly to the face of a scene that has seemingly lost its edge. Get this!
