* Background info:
ABSENTIA LUNAE is a somber creature active since 2002 and already known for the impressive debut album "Marching Upon Forgotten Ashes" released on June 2004. After very good feedbacks from the international press the cd limited to 500 copies was immediately sold-out. "In Vmbrarum Imperii Gloria" is the result of the further development of the band, finally supported by a professional sound and songwriting further improved; they're back to evoke their complex form of Black Metal even more twisted and impressive. Cold but in the meantime martial black metal art as few dared to spread ABSENTIA LUNAE are today one of the few bands who don't care about the average standards, and the band amplify their instinct and will to challenge the limited vision of current genres. Don't expect any normalized black metal copycat but a summoning of strong feelings, where instinct prevail and where will and perspective isn't chained. Aggression in a weird obscure never-ending vortex, not a compromise. What many dared but few achieved to unleash in an black metal environment. "In Vmbrarvm Imperii Gloria" is the sound of tragedy, is a dimension to reawake phantoms of inhumanity...

* Excerpts of Review found online at Metal Archives:
"Throughout the entire album, the sense of atmosphere does not let up, and the guitar work and drumming is spot on with this record. The riffs on this record are typical black metal fare mostly, but it does a good job setting itself apart form the rest due to the elements of melody that are thrown into the mix and come in at just the right moments. Climaxia is indeed one of the most underrated black metal guitarists in my opinion. She doesn't shred at all, but that's not something I want to see in her music. The beautiful guitar work she does elevates this album above the typical underground black metal scene and gives this typically brutal and raw sounding music a sense of beauty that is rarely seen. The vocals on this album are also well done. The wails and growls that Ildanach creates compliment the awesome skill of Climaxia and do a lot of push the emotional atmosphere that this record conveys.
"ABSENTIA LUNAE is a black metal force to be reckoned with, and I can't wait to see this band's next album. This record is fantastic, and if you run across it somewhere, don't hesitate to get it and enjoy this band for yourself."
