Description:
High-calibre Symphonic Black Metal from Los Angeles with a strong Nordic influence in the epic melodic vein of Nuclear Blast bands like DIMMU BORGIR, GRAVEWORM, AGATHODAIMON, etc.
4 Song-MCD (23 minutes) of impressive Continental-styled darkness with a stormy technical attack. Self-financed, self-released debut recording by the band; released in January 18, 2005. Highly recommended! SOTHIS are poised to achieve the heights of the Extreme Metal Scene; do not overlook this killer album!

* SOTHIS Line-up:
Drogoth - Vocal Screams
Scathe - Guitars, Backing Vocals
Nylock - Guitars
Zereth - Bass Guitar
Asperia - Keys, Vocal Screams
Dross - Battery

* Band biography:
Los Angeles Black Metal act SOTHIS holds its roots in the meeting of drummer Dross and guitarist Scathe at the L.A.R.W. during the Summer of 1999. In March of Y2K, the pair began searching for additional musicians, and by the end of the year had drawn in bassist Zereth, followed by female keyboardist Asperia in January of 2001. A second guitarist was inducted but his tenure proved short-lived.

Zereth departed around Halloween of 2001, leaving Scathe, Dross, and Asperia to persevere. Attempts to find a suitable vocalist would push the fledgling band near to defeat. The challenge was taken up by Drogoth, frontman for San Diego-based Symphonic Black Metal band NOCTURNAL DEMISE in July of 2002.

Still without a bassist in March of 2004, SOTHIS commenced work on their first official release, with Scathe handling bass-playing duties. Zereth returned to the fold to complete the line-up. The "Sothis" demo recording emerged in DIGIPAK MCD format during January 2005.
