"The word MINHYRIATH was actually invented by the fantasy author J.R.R. Tolkien! Minhyriath is a land of Middle Earth. Since I have been a huge Tokien fan for more than 15 years and play Metal, in February 2007 I decided to launch a side-project, alongside my band EXCELSIS!
"In a time when there was no music which connected folk and metal we released our first album 'ANDUIN THE RIVER' in 1996 which dealt with the stories of the writer of 'Lord of the Rings' J.R.R. Tolkien. I kept dealing with the whole story of Middle-Earth and decided to write my own songs... The Middle Age has always had a fascinating effect on me and I wanted to play the flute and the bagpipes and introduce other old instruments, which we actually already did with EXCELSIS in 1996!
