Awesome dark Noise from this Southern California artist with his third full-length CD (the last, his 2nd. being the now classic tour de force "Death Keeps" on Red Stream Records); "Blood Dreams" consists of 4 monolithic nightmares sure to either make you queasy or induce otherworldly hallucinations. Composed using 2 Emil Beaulieau pieces as source material, Masami Akita harks back to his days of music concrete. A mood of extreme tension is masterfully created by combining unpredictable volume bursts of overwhelming harshness with moments of uneasy, unsettling calm. TAC - Also known as Tomografia Assiale Computerizzata; probably the first full-length release on an American label by this long-running, well-respected industrial outfit from Italy. "Out of Context" is a striking, ever-changing noise-concrete menagerie expertly combining a wide variety of sounds both familiar & completely bizarre. Fanciful, mercurial editing creates a piece that is always fresh, interesting, & enjoyable (not surprising given this band's track record)!
