"Order From Chaos was formed in late 1987 by Pete Helmkamp (bass/vocals), Chuck Keller (guitars) and Mike Miller (drums). The classic 'Crushed Infamy' demo (1989) established the band as a well respected underground act, and sold in excess of 800 copies. The 'Will to Power' EP (1990), released by the French Label Putrefaction as limited 1100 copy pressing, sold out within five months. By the end of 1990, Order from Chaos was considered one of the most important new blackened death metal bands from the US.

"In late 1991, the debut album 'Stillbirth Machine' was recorded for Wild Rags Records. This album truly captured the raw savagery that Order from Chaos was known for and many live shows, including the Milwaukee Metalfest, were playing to promote the album. After the release of 'Stillbirth Machine' in late 1992, the Greek label Decapitated records released a bootleg version of the CD, complete with an amateur layout, spelling errors, and poor quality sound. Despite the obvious quality differences, there was confusion on the part of distributors and fans alike. Nevertheless, the first Wild rags pressing of Stillbirth Machine sold out of it's 5000 copies.

"Following 'Stillbirth Machine's' Order From Chaos decided to release the 'Jericho Trumpet' EP (1993), in support of the US mini-tour, and then the classic 'Plateau of Invincibility' 10" MLP (1994). 'Jericho Trumpet', which was limited to 500 copies, sold out within five months, and the 'Plateau...' MLP sold well in Europe and the US. The second full-length album, entitled 'Dawn Bringer' was released in late 1994 and spearheaded a more powerful style, with heaviness and brutality being more obvious than speed. In the spring of 1995, the final alb um 'An Ending In Fire' as well as the MCD 'And I Saw Eternity' were recorded. Also from this time, Keller decided to leave the band and as a result of his defection, the band split up. Although 'And I Saw Eternity' was released by Eternal Darkness Records, 'An Ending In Fire' truly the most superior Order From Chaos album to date, has remained unreleased until now. After the demise of Order From Chaos, Helmkamp went on to found Angelcorpse (quickly signed to Osmose Productions) and has experienced much success with his new band. Chuck Keller formed Vulpecula & Ares Kingdom.

Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, Order from Chaos never received any local support. This did not prevent them from creating, excellent Blackened Death metal rooted in the early 80's tradition. Order from Chaos has always been a classic underground band, but now in 1998, Osmose has released the two best Order from Chaos albums, 'Stillbirth Machine' (with 'Crushed Infamy' demo tracks as bonus tracks) and the never before released 'An Ending In Fire'. 'Stillbirth Machine' has a classic layout reflecting the early days of the band, while 'An Ending In Fire' has been mastered from the famous Morrisound to bring out the full power and originality of it's sound. Thanks to Osmose, two important pieces of history shall finally see the light!"

The classic ground-breaking album by Pete Helmkamp (now with Angelcorpse on Osmose!) & company, Uniso und (who also released their Greek-import version of this album) calls this ''the 90's BEST Death Metal album!''. This is truly Satanic Blackened Death-Thrash with raw reptilian vocals (somtimes low brutal vokills also) & grim intelligently-written lyrics. Thundering technical blast-beats, dynamic grinding guitar hurricane, dark & furious attack; a surprisingly excellent & still-fresh recording that is essential proto-Black Metal (standing alongside Possessed, early Morbid Angel, etc.)!
