Hades Almighty
"Millenium Nocturne"
Hades
Almighty was formed somewhere in the obscurity of the rising Norwegian
Black Metal scene around 1992/1993 from the ashes of the legendary Death
Metal band Old Funeral (which also had members of Immortal & Burzum in its
ranks!). Fullmoon Productions (then a new American-based Black Metal label)
signed Hades and 1994
brought forth the cult debut "...Again Shall Be".
Import from Holland (on Hammerheart Records).

"The Norwegian kings return with their 2nd. opus! Bringing to life the excellence experienced in bands such as BATHORY & ENSLAVED, these Blackened Viking warriors display why they are the masters of the scene!" --from Full Moon Prod. advertisement.
Yes, we are inclined to agree with Full Moon Prod., as this sophomore effort by the distinguished Norse quartet deserves to stand alongside the company of Enslaved, Kampfar, Einherjer, & Mithotyn-- rousing, solid Viking/Nordic Metal that retains a stirring feeling in the melodies, without compromising the intensity of the raging, harmonic grind! An awesome, excellently produced recording (not surprising since it was recorded at Grieghallen Studio with Pytten engineering & producing), where every nuance shines through: the crystalline clarity of the acoustic guitars, the subtle atmospherics of the etherial, frosty keyboards rising above the guitar crunch, & grim, desparate & impassioned vokills presenting the True Norwegian attack! An instant, "must have" winner from Full Moon!

Heavy, mid-tempo black metal in the hardiest tradition of early Bathory or Darkthrone. Ringing guitars soar over doomy drums, while hoarse screams sing out madly of Viking exploits. A classic & popular 3-song EP finally out on CD for your digital convenience! *(Please note that this MCD is released by Napalm Records & is not to be confused with Fullmoon Productions' "...Again Shall Be" CD!)

The follow-up, "Dawn Of The Dying Sun", was released in the spring of 1997.
This album received raging reviews from critics (Gotz Kuhnemund of RockHard
giving it 9 points!!!). A short tour was executed with Aeternus throughout
Germany, Holland, & Belgium; on this tour Hades proved it's enormous
live-potential, resulting in fanatic crowds.
During 1997 (doing a US/Mexico mini-tour) and 1998 Hades worked on their
new album and signed to Nuclear Blast in the spring, resulting in playing
live at the Wacken Open Air 1998. During January 1999 Nuclear Blast
licensed this new album "Millenium Nocturne" to Hammerheart Records" and in
April Hades Almighty (yes, the name did change, due to the American
Technothrasher Hades) played with Mayhem
in Benelux, followed by a tour with Immortal and Benediction in May 1999!!!
