Supremely evil Vampyric Black Metal by four extreme Germans (the two guys pictured on the cover & in the booklet look very resplendent in their meticulously painted corpse-makeup, & with massive amounts of spikes, leather, tatoos, swords, metal, & studs-- pretty scary!)... With solemn female vocals, both grim & brutal male vokills, funereal keyboards, speed-thrashy grind, & dark-oriented subjects, this is sure to draw inevitable comparisons to Cradle of Filth (but thankfully, the vocali
st Graf von Beelzebub does not attempt to recreate Dani's high screechiness, & this is a main saving grace of Mystic Circle); surprisingly very well-done overall, & quite enjoyable! A very good production is presented with quality graphics & packaging to match (& the obligatory lyrics to help you sing along!). My only complaint is that there are not enough pictures of topless vampire-women! *(Hey, guys, the 7th. track will have you creaming in your jeans!)

With this album, the six-piece Hefeystos (featuring 2 guitarists!) could almost qualify as Poland's version of Elend (except that Nirnaeth wins that title); this self-titled full-length presents soaring & invigorating gothic/dark-oriented metal with multi-layered etherial female vocals by Alicja Szumska who would put any Parisian chanteuse, or any Euro-Goth diva (or even the best American lounge torch-singer) to shame! A truly lilting melodicism & extreme atmospheric is skyrocketed forth with cosmic electric guitar, ringing acoustic guitar strumming, dreamy keyboards, & solemn male vocals (similar to Penitent, but sung in Polish). A very tasty & fulfilling album of both sparkling beauty & extreme cult!
