"1666...Theatre Bizarre"
The epic & grand 2nd. album on Holy Records by this French trio (actually now fully expanded to a quintet for live gigs) featuring Alexandre Iskandar from ELEND on orchestral keyboards, & Holy label-owner/guitarist & vocalist Phillipe Courtois De L'Argiliere. A grandiose & celestial violence tempered by complex technical structures & symphonic arrangements evoking an imperial majesty. The title refers to the year when Moliere wrote his last play "Le Misanthrope" about Louis XIV (the king who built Versailles castle).
"This album is a personal adaptation of the play, it's like an endless walk in the labyrinth of Le Louvre museum. Many poetries are based on the misanthropic doctrines. This is a supreme way of life, which shows us how truly bizarre the human is. From our side we completely perverted this noble hero, giving him eternal & extreme conflict with himself. Abnormal sex, medieval ages & a mature belief in god are the main themes of this whole quest for the life in harmony. It's an eternal mourning, a pray in the desert, because he knows that only the chaos
of nothing rules. He is the vampire of it's own blood!" --Phillipe from an interview in Terrorizer #27 (February 1996)
A great fusion of extreme Dark Metal, brutal Doom, neo-classical & French folk influences! Rnanaud Tschirner from Elend also appears as guest vocalist/keyboardist. *(total running time of over 67 minutes)

"Parade Into Centuries"
Pounding Doom & energetic Deathmetal quartet, with angelic choir samples & etherial keyboards. Brutal growling vocals (but NOT grindcore croaking) & searing melodies providing evidence that Nightfall takes obvious inspiration from early My Dying Bride & Paradise Lost. Romantic & epic music (true extreme metal!) from Athens, Greece! *(Total running time for 10 songs: 46 minutes; 10th. song being an extra-long bonus track.)

"Mystic Places of Dawn"
The debut album on Holy Records, France (circa 1994) by this B
lackened Doom quartet from Athens, Greece. Inspired by U.K.Doom pioneers Paradise Lost, Anathema, & (of course) My Dying Bride, & presenting a strong Greek BM treatment with gothic keyboards & medieval/Mediterranean melodies; articulated with brutal deathish vocals & epic/grandiose atmosphere! All excellently recorded at Rotting Christ's STORM Studio with Magus Wampyr Daoloth (Thou Art Lord/N.A.O.S.), & housed in a lush, multi-fold digi-pak. *(Over 55 minutes total running time!)

"Esoptron"
"Dark Romanticism & Ancient Memory" (from "Esoptron" liner-notes)
Blackened Gothic Doom Metal (My Dying Bride being an obvious influence) with dark ambience, chilly neo-classical keyboards, low growling vocals & atmospheric guitar (searing leads, man!). Very technical structures form the blackened Dark Metal grind-- more medieval & progressive than earlier recordings (now down to two members at the core). All excellently recorded at Rotting Christ's STORM Studio with Magus Wampyr Daoloth (Necromantia/Diabolos Rising), & housed in a lush, multi-fold digi-pak. *(Released in 1996)

"One With Darkness"
Gothic ultra-Dark Metal of thick, but majestic doominess from this heavy trio from Sweden. Neo-classical based guitars, blood-freezing keyboards of suspended melodies, & angelic medieval choirs spice up the atmospheric blackened rock, while infused with the solemn, though evil "Vlad the Impaler" baritone &/or caustic BM raspiness
of Thomas Karlsson. Distinctive & unique, Tristitia's brand of Gothic Dark Metal is sure to evoke desperation & resignation, as the celestial flight of epic crusades plods along. There is beauty in Tristitia's darkness that fortifies & invigorates the soul to cosmic yearnings. Journey forward! *(Over 55 minutes total running time!)
French Import (On Holy Records).
