The new album from Italian jazz-influenced Metalheads EPHEL DUATH. 'Through My Dog's Eyes' follows in the tradition of bizarreness that accompanies the band's concepts featuring songs written from the perspective of a dog. Mixing the catchiness of Queens Of The Stone Age with the oddball dynamics of Frank Zappa.
EPHEL DUATH took their name from the Elf-ish name for the Mountains of Shadow surrounding Mordor in the west and the south in Tolkien's 'Lord of the Rings'.
Very few bands can play metal as utterly unique and distinctly original as EPHEL DUATH-- and remain listenable-- 'Through My Dog's Eyes' sees them doing just that. A bit less obtuse and disorienting than their previous album, but still just as amazing.
A conceptual piece of avant-garde Metal brilliance featuring Marco Minnemann (NECROPHAGIST) on drums, and a special appearance by DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN / KREATOR's Ben Weinman!
Limited-Edition Double-Disc with BONUS DVD on Earache Records, featuring leader Davide Tiso (guitar) explaning the concept behind the album and the various inner workings of this enigmatic band. (2009)
