ENDLESS BLIZZARD "Remember Your Death" CD 2008 (BlackMetal.com)
Another masterpiece of proper USBM by this totally underrated yet absolutely amazing band led by the mighty LA based Italic Warrior Roskva Stramaglio... Bringing his Nordic metal fascination and his Italian ancestry in his music as well, giving to ENDLESS BLIZZARD an unique twist.
"Arcane Dimension" starts the offensive with massive drumming and sharp guitar riffs... proving that there is no messing around with ENDLESS BLIZZARD. "Telepathic Rites" perfectly associates the Nordic feelings of such acts as Clandestine Blaze with early Immortal but something mesmerizing added to it... "Luciferian Crown" is an interlude with mysterious keyboards where you can clearly feel the seventies dark atmospheres of such 70s bands from Italy as JACULA (a totally unknown yet truly mesmerizing act nobody even dares to mention nowadays)... "Cultivated By Darkness" is a very long song, which contains amazing riffs and mesmerizing guitars that makes your mind travel to the supreme edifice of ethereal void. The vocals, really unique, hateful (and at the same time impossible to compare to anyone) are a really strong point on this album especially on this song.... and then this guitar solo, really catapulting you back to the glorious early 80's... and then voyage back to the early 70's with some hypnotic interludes on "Under The Tranhelm" which is totally hallucinogenic-- proper old school ambient! "Glorious Opiate Dream" starts with a curtain of cold guitars and down tempo drumming, giving it a really majestic feeling, like a gigantic condor taking off for a glide... majestic and so grim... Vultur Gryphus in its full splendor! Bombastic....Majestic...and so intense! And alas, we are arriving to the end of this fabulous journey within the realms of horror... "Buried Still Breathing" that, without transition, merges into "Remember Your Death" concludes this fabulous album in a great way... it is like the final scene of a grand thriller...
Then the final opus... which reminds me the good old times of CELTIC FROST's "To Mega Therion". Ahhhhh the good old years... but here, there is a line of keyboards that strikingly brings it to an upper level of perfection... I am speachless... Roskva Stramaglio NEVER ceases to amaze me with an opus... Can't wait for what he's up to with LIGHTNING SWORD OF DEATH... a proper live band that hopefully will play live in Europe someday!
