A long overdue album (from Mikael &
company-- now known as NIGHT CONQUERS DAY) of recently re-worked &
re-mastered recordings dating back from 1993 (demo #2 entitled "Vivisect
the Virgin Mary", 1994 unreleased 7-inch EP sessions & demo #3 "And This
Too Shall Pass Away", plus other previously unreleased material).
Described by Mikael himself as "Brutal & Atmospheric Black Death", the
music on this disc presents what will no doubt come to be known as the
"Classic" Early American Black Metal sound (as fashioned by contemporaries
such as Profanatica, Havohej, etc.)-- influenced by pioneers such as
Possessed, Bathory, Pestilence, Necrovore, Infernal Majesty, Mercyful Fate,
& others! In 1997 new vocal parts, reverb/echo effects, & new keyboard
parts were added to the original recordings, but that old & cult feeling
(similar to early Beherit & Canada's Blasphemy) is STILL present, blasting
at you like an inverted crucifix disembowling your entrails!
