Primordial arose in the early months of '93 from the ashes of Forsaken who were around in one form or another since '89, but due to internal problems split in '92. Now with more serious intentions and a better focus they recorded and released their only demo 'Dark Romanticism' which was highly praised throughout the worldwide underground. Cacophonous Records had the pleasure of releasing the band's debut CD 'Imrama', an album of classic and passionate Irish compositions.
A split 10-inch with Sweden's Katatonia was the band's initial release on their new label, Misanthropy. The chosen song was a very unrefined and dramatic version of their demo track 'To Enter Pagan'. Limited to 777 copies this release sold out swiftly.
In early '98 Primordial entered Academy studios to lay down their anticipated second album. The seven tracks of emotional metal therein are injected with more intensity than ever, a defined progression among their concepts and musical structures. Each song is the product of four individuals dedicated to following their own ideals. Every moment is profound with their emotions enhanced by the power of their own enchanting sound.
