Don't let the chamber music intro by a string quartet lull you into a false sense of security: this is true Northern-styled black metal by two Swedes (Pierre & Oskar) who are also two-thirds of The Everdawn. An easy reference as with all new Swedish bands is comparisons to Dissection, but with more atmospheric keyboards (similar to Emperor or Vintersemestre). Grim vocals both growling & raspy are reminiscent of Marduk or Kvist. Well-played & well-produced, this is high-energy, invigorating thrash skillfully propelled by proficient & accomplished drumming (this guy, also the drummer in Gates of Ishtar, would give Mayhem/Arcturus' Hellhammer great competition!). Positively Satanic BM produced by G.Norman (who also performs the keyboard parts & appears on The Everdawn MCD, too)...
