This is a return to the raw harshness of Fimbulwinter (Garm's first band!)-- crusty Norwegian Black Metal like early Darkthrone ("A Blaze In the Northern Sky" & "Transilvanian Hunger") tempered only by short acoustic-guitar interludes as found on "Bergtatt" (the first Ulver album). This makes "Kveldsjanger" sound like (gasp!) new age folk, & is even garage-ier than "Bergtatt"! Not for wimps!!!
